I have a real fondness for afternoon tea, so I may have been a little excited to see this M&S Afternoon Tea Hamper for two sent to my husband this week. The wicker grey hamper, which is super cute, contains everything you need for afternoon tea at home, from M&S luxury gold tea to mini Victoria sandwich sponge cakes and, of course, scones.

It is filled up with all the sweet treats you want to see from an afternoon tea. From fondant fancies to chocolate florentines, scones served with strawberry jam and even shortbread biscuits in an adorable white tin. The only thing missing for me was clotted cream. No afternoon tea is complete without that, in my opinion.

There is also a tin of Gold tea, one of my favourite teas at M&S because it has a delicious and refreshing, smooth and sweet flavour. Plus, to make the hamper a little more special, especially if gifting for an occasion, the afternoon tea comes with two mini bottles of Prosecco.

Is the M&S afternoon tea hamper worth the money?

All in all, for £50 this M&S hamper does make a beautiful gift.

There are plenty of treats included for two, with my favourite being the victoria sponge cakes, seriously they may be mini, but they taste incredible. I also love M&S’s fondant fancies much creamier inside than Mr Kipling’s. I also thought the scones were tasty, even if I would have preferred a fruit scone, but the strawberry jam was just amazing.

I also love that the wicker hamper is such good quality, I might even say it is better quality than a Fortnum and Mason one, however, I’m still a sucker for a wicker basket stamped with F&M!!! It is such a great size as well for you to be able to reuse it again and stock up with your favourite treats for a summer picnic. I have several picnic baskets, but sometimes you just want something a little smaller to pop in the car and this one would be perfect for that.

I will also reuse the two tins that came with the hamper. I think the one stamped with ‘treats’ will be great for the dog, as it is so adorable and he definitely won’t be able to knock it over and get into it.

Overall, this M&S afternoon tea was a wonderful treat, which I would consider sending to a loved one for a special occasion, as who doesn’t love getting the cake forks out?
