Do you have a fancy party, wedding, or even a date coming up where you want to look designer fabulous for a fraction of the price? Well, you are in luck as new premium designer dress rental website, Wish Want Wear, has launched.
I love the sparkle of the catwalk and now instead of just dreaming about my favourite pieces, I can actually rent them. What I love about Wish Want Wear is that luxury fashion has never been so accessible, they offer dresses to rent from between £27-£400, that is on average 12-15% of the actual retail prices, and they have an amazing selection.
Be honest, how often have you actually worn that amazing gown that hangs in your wardrobe, because it was so fabulous that everyone remembers it? Generally, we buy an expensive dress and then wear it once, with Wish Want Wear you can rent the gown of your dreams for either 4 or 8 days, and the best bit you don’t have to worry about getting it dry cleaned they do it all for you. Worried about sizing? Well don’t be as they even send you a complimentary second sized dress.
The site offers a whole host of leading designer brands including Temperley, Haslton Heritage, Sass and Bide, Tibi, Twenty8Twelve in addition to accessories from the likes of Erickson Beamon, Dannijo and Kara Ross. My advice is go for showy and completely OTT, as you are renting it you want people to remember it. My top five picks are:
This gorgeous pink Tracey Reese lace cocktail dress is perfectly for working the ladylike look. Not as flashy as some dresses, but trust me just as memorable, especially in this cute Barbie pink colour. I reckon this would be a perfect dress to wear to a wedding. Rental price is only £47 for 4 days, rather than £410 if you bought the dress.
After show-stopping? Then this old-school glamour Kaya gown from Temperley London is perfect. This dramatic red silk one-shoulder gown with cape sleeve is simply stunning, I love the draping as well as the embellished detail at the waist. If you are after red carpet perfection then you have to go for something like this. To buy it would cost you £2,400, the rental cost is just £257.
Changing it up from black is hard, well that is until you see this gorgeous jewel-hued Catherine Malandrino, I love this shimmering blue ruched maxi. Rental price is £82, a fraction of the £700 RRP.
Want a Sex and the City moment on a big girls night out? Then you have to go for Halston Heritage and how perfect is this purple pleated double-layer scoop-neck dress for only £27 rental. That is cheaper than a new frock off the high street and more healthy to your bank balance than its retail price of £438.
More of a summer dress but I couldn’t resist including this stunning Gardenia print Mark + James Badgley Mischka maxi dress. This beauty is straight from the runway and wouldn’t seem out of place on red carpet. Rent this beauty for just £42, rather than paying £240 to buy.
Has anyone ever rented a dress from a similar website? I think I might have to give it a go with options like this – now all I need is a fancy night out!!!
