My blog has always been a little bit of a mixed bag – I cover everything from fashion to beauty, afternoon tea to gadgets, and now gardening – not quite – but last month I went to my first flower show and I loved the Manchester School of Art’s allotment that I have decided to share my pics.
I went to the Tatton Flower Show with my mum because basically I love flowers, if you follow me on Instagram you will know just how much, but it was more than just flowers it was interesting to see all the show gardens on display. Some were traditional and gave me some inspiration for my own, some were geared at raising awareness of say bees, butterflies and even Alzheimer’s disease, and then there was the Manchester School of Art’s allotment made from glass, wood, fabric, paper and ceramics – there wasn’t a living thing in sight!!!
I have been blown away by Manchester School of Art’s creativity before on the runway at Graduate Fashion Week, but this was just incredible to see – the allotment had it all from ceramic cabbages to paper daffodils and even paper clip seedlings and floral covered gardening tools.
I just love how the art school interpreted an allotment, put their own spin on it, and made me take a second look – come on those cabbages look good enough to eat. They really have made the garden allotment a piece of modern art and I love it.
