Anyone else happy that warmer weather is on its way? I know we still have to get through this cold snap, which is ridiculous in May, but you have to stay positive and prepare yourself with my summer dress edit, featuring the dresses on my current wishlist.
When it comes to summer style, I’m probably a little predictable, I like flowy dresses, florals, strips, polka dots, colourful pops, with flattering, easy-to-wear silhouettes. I basically, love a summer uniform of comfortable styles that looks pretty, and dresses just seem to work perfectly for me.
Where I Buy My Summer Dresses From
There are a number of places I love buying summer dresses from, the usual suspects like H&M as they are so affordable and on-trend. I’m currently obsessed with my Desmond & Dempsey purchase, I also love their Conscious collection and their linen-blend dresses as I find I get wear out them for many summers.
I also can’t help but scroll through Asos as they have so many options, they sell my favourite Nobody’s Child, which I’ve championed a lot, as well as Wednesday’s Girl, which I love for its simple and fun dresses.
Baukjen, I’ve mentioned them many times before on my blog and across my social media, I love their quality, their circular economy approach to ethical and sustainable production, they are doing their best to eliminate waste by designing with longevity, as well as producing pieces with low mileage, and I think that comes through with their clothes – especially their summer dresses.
This summer dress I’m sharing here is the beautiful Anastasia dress, a stunning watercolour painted floral silky, elegant dress. I’m obsessed with the vintage, prairie design, the puff sleeves, as well as the delicate floral print. This is one of those dresses that is so versatile, can be worn with sandals and a straw hat, like here, relaxed with trainers or boots, as well as under a jumper on a cooler summer night.
Then there is Arket with its laid-back yet stylish take on summer dresses. Granted, Arket is a little more expensive than other high street stores, I do like minimal silhouettes that still feel feminine. I currently have this gorgeous ruffle lightweight kaftan dress on my wishlist, I love the black version but I think I need the floral print and this green floral smocked bodice sundress.
For fancier summer dresses, I have my eye on Olivia Rubin, seriously her love for rainbow hues makes me smile so much and I would love to own, one or many of her pretty and colourful creations. Top of my wishlist has to be her Juniper Pastel Stripe Dress, seriously how dreamy is this with its pastel hues.
I’ve also fallen hard for British designer Deborah Lyons particularly her Audley dress, an articulated puff sleeve cotton midi dress with flower print illustration – it seriously is a dreamy dress that would have been perfect for a special occasion or just to wear to the beach, to be honest, I love it that much.
