Currently, my daily wardrobe options have generally leaned towards the casual and comfortable, loungewear has been my go-to this year, but I’m ready to start embracing real clothes again and it starts with this wonderful dress collaboration between M&S and Ghost. Yep, M&S has launched a beautiful, limited-edition collection of vintage-inspired dresses, designed exclusively by Ghost, who really do the most stunning and super-wearable dresses.
The new M&S x Ghost collection is just online and there are only 10 dresses to choose from. But the best bit is they are priced between £59 and £79 pounds, so as well as being super-wearable and super-pretty, they are also super-affordable!!!
As you would expect from Ghost, there are stars, there are florals, as well as stunning details such as Peter Pan collars, ruffles and puffed sleeves. These are timeless dresses that you will get a lot of wear out of. Wear now layered under a jumper or chunky cardigan, with knitted tights and ankle boots, and then come spring, wear with a lightweight coat, and then in the summer, pair with Birkenstock sandals for a casual-cool beach look.
I have to be honest, I have five on my shortlist. I know realistically I can only get one. I love the star print with the tiered design, I can see myself wearing the lilac ditsy floral tea dress, I truly adore the cute printed collared mini skater dress, and there is this red star-print wrap dress that I think is stunning – just look at the sleeves.
But for me, the hero dress of this collection has to be floral Peter Pan collar midi dress. I love the silhouette and the long sleeves, but most of that navy floral print is just so cute, and then the Peter Pan collar just takes it up a notch. I just can’t believe it is only £79, you would pay double that for Ghost London dresses normally.
Also, if you have a mini-me? Keep an eye out on M&S’s website from November 28 as Ghost will be launching their very first childrenswear collection, featuring three hero looks from the womenswear collaboration. Prices will start at £30.
One thing I do wish that M&S had considered when making this collection is to be more inclusive, the sizing only goes up to a size 16. There was a real opportunity for the retailer to offer this gorgeous collection to more women as normal collections generally do go up to size 24.
